Day 1: Recovery

What I'm doing:
- Recovering from The Big Move, from my dorm to my new apartment
- Trying to find internet access, as the apartment's internet jack is broken
- Handing out with my roommate (for the next week or so)
- Working on my computer sans internet access
- Blogging (by means of typing everything ahead of time and using the old copy-and-paste method once I get online again)

What I'm eating:
- Leftover food (my university offers 'meal exchanges,' or meal plan meals at the on-campus food stalls; I got two ahead of time and saved them for when my meal plan ended); currently have a Tuscan Chicken Panini from Sandella's and a Salami Wrap from Wrapz
- Popcorn

What I'm reading:
- An interesting article on 6 Healthy Snacks that Won't Break the Bank (http://www.wisebread.com/6-healthy-snacks-that-wont-break-the-bank)
- A site selling paper products online (http://www.papergoodsdirect.com/index.php/)
- My e-mail
- A beautiful article on the marriage, why it's failing, and it's place in society (http://www.catholic.org/national/national_story.php?id=41339)

How I'm feeling:
- Sore
- Tired
- Scared
- Nervous
- Excited

Goal of the day: Get my stuff settled into the small side room I'll be using while my roommate's family is in town (and in the apartment) for her graduation.

To-Do's:
- Post this to my blog...once I get internet access
- Waste about 3 hours around the apartment while waiting for my roommate's package, so she can meet with her sister
- Determine what exactly is involved in the graduation ceremonies this weekend
- Double-check summer job
- Fill out rental application, so I can stay in the apartment when my roommate moves out
- Figure out when my roommate is moving out
- Make a good impression on my roommate's family
- Make a bed out of pillows and blankets, to last until I get my air mattress back
- Go to sleep early to prepare for my shift in the library computer lab tomorrow

In all, a good day. Spent a few hours online this morning, before Mass at noon; walked back to the apartment for lunch, because I didn't eat anything before I left. Currently waiting for that package to arrive. Excited about this blog...we'll see how it takes off! Not expecting anyone to actually read it, but it should be a fun way to catalogue my experiences of the summer. Must look into a reliable drinking water source...the water in the area, much like the air, is notoriously full of unpleasant residue. Some bottled water saved from meal exchanges should tide me over until I can get to a store.
